Early
Dance Program

The first step — and it is not about looking sweet at a school concert. Between three and five, a child lays down what every sport later rests on: body awareness, balance, rhythm and the habit of training.

02What develops

What develops at this age

None of this looks like «dancing» from the outside. But it is exactly what later separates a child who picks up a combination first time from one who gets tangled in their own arms.

01

Coordination and balance

A child learns to steer the body on purpose: left from right, where the centre is, how to hold one leg.

02

Flexibility and basic strength

Gentle stretching and work on the back and feet — in a load that is safe for the age.

03

Rhythm and musicality

Hearing the beat and moving on it. This is the age when it comes most easily.

04

Focus and habit

Staying for the whole class, hearing the task, repeating it. For many this is a first taste of structured work.

05

Confidence in the body

A child stops being wary of movement: jumping, spinning, falling and getting up are all fine.

06

Working in a group

Waiting a turn, holding a spot in the room, moving together with everyone. It carries into school.

03The class

How a class runs

The class is built from short blocks: a three-year-old's attention lasts minutes, not half-hours. The tasks change but the order stays the same week to week — small children need predictability.

After the dance part comes a short creative block, so the class ends calmly rather than at peak excitement.

What a class is made of

A warm-up in the form of a game — the body wakes up and the child tunes in.

Basic movement and coordination: steps, jumps, turns, and using the space of the room.

Flexibility and strengthening — gently, with no pushing and no forcing.

Rhythm tasks to music: clapping, counting with the body, simple combinations.

A short creative block at the end — a calm finish.

04Why it matters

This is a base for more than dance

If in two years your child moves to gymnastics, swimming or football, none of it is wasted. Coordination, flexibility and the ability to follow instruction work everywhere.

Body

Ready for any sport

Flexibility, balance and a sense of centre — the starting point for gymnastics, swimming and martial arts alike.

Mind

The habit of training

Regularity, attention to the task and finishing it. Within a year it shows at school.

Next

A smooth move into Foundation

At six a child moves into Foundation already holding a base, rather than starting from zero beside beginners.

What to bring

  • Comfortable fitted clothing
  • Hair tied back
  • Socks or ballet flats
  • Water

My child is shy and clings to me

Completely normal at this age, and it usually passes within two or three classes. The teacher knows how to bring a child into the group and does not rush it. The trial class shows straight away whether your child is ready now or better off coming back in a couple of months.
